Can a 14 year old go to AMC theaters alone? ›

Age Restrictions

Guests under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian who is 21 or older for the duration of the show. Please be prepared to show ID. Children ages 6 or under are not admitted to R-rated films after 6pm. More information on our policy regarding ratings can be found here.

AMC Stubs A-List members can really get the most out of our Discount Tuesdays program. You can choose to waive your A-List benefit and get cheap tickets on Tuesdays (you'll still earn AMC Stubs reward points) or you can use one of your A-List reservations and pass on Tuesday benefits to the rest of your party!

Associates are eligible through AMC Stubs Cast accounts to see free movies. Number of passes. Associates may only use their assigned account for free passes for themselves and guests accompanying them. The number of passes allowed is based on position (Crew & 1, Supervisor & 2 and Hourly Manager & 3).

Children under 5 years are welcome to our ALL AGES showtimes (see above for details). Ages 13 – 17 years old are allowed to appropriately rated movies (G, PG, PG-13) without an adult guardian before 7pm. See below image for ratings guidelines. Anyone under 13 will not be admitted to a matinee without an adult guardian.

You must be at least 17 years of age or have your parent accompany you to view the movie. IDs will be checked at the theatre.

Black Tickets are valid for one admission to any movie. These tickets exclude opening night fan events, double features, marathon events, alternative content and special theatrical presentations.

AMC Yellow Tickets are exchange items that are NOT eligible toward earning AMC Stubs rewards either at time of purchase or time of redemption. Valid seven days a week.

Probably because it was the lowest grossing day of the week (and this likely goes back to people renting a new video release on a Tuesday instead of going to the theater) so they lowered the prices that day to get people to come.

The official policy (and this counts for soft drinks as well) is that large ICEE's and soft drinks can be refilled, but not medium or small ones. Whether or not the staff will see you take it is another story, but it's still best to abide by the policy; this is the best way to keep from getting in trouble.

Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Films classified 12A contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.

Children under the age of 15 may not legally watch, buy or hire MA 15+ rated material unless they are in the company of a parent or adult guardian. Children under the age of 15 who go to the cinema to see an MA 15+ film must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian for the duration of the film.

Movies rated R should not be watched until the minor is 17. In short, you can watch rated PG movies without an adult at any age (as long as you know how to work the TV, and you can watch PG-13 movies without an adult after you are 13 years old, and you can watch rated R movies after you are 17 years old.
